AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - For students at one local school, Thursday was the perfect day to spend outside on a playground.

Administrators from the Leonard Kirtz School in Austintown invited students from the Robert Bycroft School in Lisbon to come up and spend the afternoon together having fun on their playground.

The area was opened a year ago and was specially designed for youngsters with special needs.

"Our communities and our counties have been working a lot more lately to work together and collaborate, and so we view this as a chance to continue in that mission, bring some friends for our students to play with, and just enjoy this beautiful, safe space," said Leonard Kirtz School Principal Andrew Garber.
