Imelda is now what's called a post tropical cyclone, meaning it's no longer a tropical system that's getting its energy from the heat of the ocean. What was once Imelda is still a potent system that has now merged with another ordinary storm, producing a large rain sheild and winds that are strong as a category 1 hurricane. Advertisement
