LAWTON, Okla. (KFOR) — The Oklahoma Department of Corrections is boosting security measures at a local correctional facility with new advanced drone technology to stop the smuggling of contraband.

A new pilot program was launched this week and introduced at the Red Rock Correctional Center, formerly known as the Lawton Correctional Center, providing continuous aerial coverage above the facility.

The initiative will ensure the safety of staff and inmates at the correctional facility while also being used to stop the smuggling of drugs, cellphones and weapons.
