MT. VERNON, Ill. (KFVS) - The United Way of South Central Illinois announced that the organization’s literacy programs received a grant to help make sure children have access to books.

The Great Expectations Fund of the St. Louis Community Foundation granted the funds to the United Way.

The money will help fund the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and United Way Readers literacy programs.

The United Way partners with teachers who use the books and other resources to spark imagination, improve literacy, and encourage academic success.
