MOUNT VERNON, Mo. (KY3) - The Barry-Lawrence Counties Regional Library unveiled a new administrative building that will provide relief and help keep the doors of smaller libraries open.
The building used to house the largest library branch in Barry and Lawrence counties, but after renovations, it will now only serve as an administrative building. One of the resources the facility provides is support to smaller libraries with limited space on their bookshelves.
“Libraries constantly have to improve people think that libraries, oh, you know, dusty books on shelves, that’s not the way of a modern library,” said Greg Brown of the Barry-Lawrence Counties Regional Library System. “We are a hub of the community, a place where people connect with knowledge but also connect with each other.”
