ROCHESTER, Minn. - Mighty Oaks Early Learning School has taken full advantage of their new space.
A traffic garden was created for students to learn about traffic and pedestrian safety. It is a scaled city street that has everything from roundabouts, stop signs, turns, and one way streets.
Although the students are preschoolers, the goal is to form some sense of recognition. That is through recognizing street lines, signs, or the colors and shapes. Teachers have confidence that by the end of the year, students will understand what way to go and what everything means.
The traffic garden is also open to the public during the evening hours. If you are interested, the only thing that you will need to bring is your own bike.
