STREATOR ( 25News Now ) - A 17-year-old is now facing preliminary charges of aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm after gunshots were reported in Streator.

At about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the area around the 600 block of East Hickory Street, finding evidence that a gun was fired in the area.

An occupied vehicle arrived at the police department around this time, with damage consistent with being shot.

Police identified a suspect and found them in South Streator. He was taken to the LaSalle County Juvenile Detention Center.
