GREENVILLE, S.C. —
Dozens of community leaders attended a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony Thursday, which was held at the Rupert Hues Veterans Center.
The ceremony, which was attended by Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette and representatives from the South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs, honored the agreement between the Greenville County Coroner's Office and the Upstate Warrior Solution.
"We owe everything to our soldiers," Evette said. "The people, the men and women, who are willing to put on the uniform and fight for what we hold true."
The agreement will grant the Upstate Warrior Solution access to data from the coroner's office. This will allow veteran suicides to be tracked more accurately and more frequently.
