Cynthia Carol Layer

April 10, 1949 – September 13, 2025

Cynthia was born in Brea, California, to Carol Marsh and Paul Layer. Her family moved from Lake Tahoe to Washington in the early 1960s. She started her own family in the late 60s and continued her education in 1973 while raising her children.

In the 1980s, she began various restaurant ventures as an entrepreneur. In the late 90s, she managed the cafeteria at the Air Traffic Control Center in Auburn. With her late husband, Larry Overland, they opened Cynthia’s Pony Express Cafe in Enumclaw in the late 90s.

In the early 2000s, she left the restaurant business to become a manager at Enumclaw Health and Rehabilitation. She was a leading resident of Enumclaw for four decades, assisting many people by providing jobs or helping seniors a
