One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, including one in 800 men. October is breast cancer awareness month, but for the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, awareness is year-round.

"They restored a little bit of peace and calm during this storm that was happening in my house," said Ladona Weathers.

Ladona Weathers knows the impact of Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks firsthand after a stage one breast cancer diagnosis in January flipped her life upside down. The organization brings financial assistance for everyday expenses like travel, kids activities, and even mortgages. Weathers, who traveled all the way from Branson to Springfield for treatment, was able to have gas cards sent to her.
