DoorDash has officially completed its acquisition of Deliveroo, marking a major move in the global food delivery market.

In a letter to Deliveroo stakeholders Thursday , DoorDash CEO Tony Xu assured customers, merchants and riders that the Deliveroo app and services will remain in place for now.

“The Deliveroo app and products you know and love aren’t going anywhere,” Xu wrote.

Xu said the goal is to build on Deliveroo’s strengths rather than replace them. For merchants, that means new tools to grow their businesses. For customers, it means more selection, better affordability and faster service. Riders will keep their flexibility, while DoorDash plans to invest in safety, mapping and support improvements.
