Sean "Diddy" Combs made an impassioned plea to the judge who oversaw his trial in a letter today, one day before Combs is set to be sentenced after being convicted in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
"I lost my way. I got lost in my journey. Lost in the drugs and the excess. My downfall was rooted in my selfishness. I have been humbled and broken to my core," Combs wrote.
"The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn. Prison will change you or kill you — I choose to live," he added.
Each count for which Combs was convicted carries a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.
He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
