5 Freeway corridor near Santa Clarita, Western Antelope Valley Foothills and Antelope Valley were placed under a wind advisory by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 7:24 p.m. The advisory is valid from Friday 8 p.m. until Saturday Oct. 4, at 5 a.m.
According to the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA, “Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.”
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” according to the NWS. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
