LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Following three shootings in Lexington’s east end neighborhood this week, community organization ONE Lexington is taking action to support residents affected by the recent gun violence.

Volunteers brought food bags provided by Black Soil KY and asked people living on and around East Seventh Street what they needed moving forward.

“They say the more you put good into the community, it can lessen evil or it can lessen bad, so it’s just coming and checking and some people just want to know that somebody cares,” Kenneth Payne said.

Andre Wilson was on the receiving end of neighborly love when his son was shot six months ago and now he’s returning the favor.

“By us knocking on the door, it makes them really feel good that somebody cares and that’s why I’m out here,”
