HUGHES COUNTY, S.D. (KCAU) — New details have been released on a car versus pedestrian accident in South Dakota that killed one person.

The state's department of public safety says Taylor Hanson, 27, of Rock Valley, Iowa, was driving a minivan west on Highway 34 in Hughes County on Sunday.

Officials said his vehicle hit Elvera Driving Hawk, 23, of Kennebec, South Dakota.

Authorities said she was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
