LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Spooky season has officially begun in Louisville with the opening of the 13th annual Jack O’Lantern Spectacular.
Between October 2nd and November 2nd, the Parks Alliance of Louisville will display a rotating selection of 5,000 jack o’lanterns carved by local artists at Iroquois Park.
“We work with around 30 to 40 local artists,” director of marketing and communications Morgan Reining said. “They are working tirelessly behind the scenes. We have to work with the weather, so if it’s a bit hotter and more humid like it is now, we’re changing out those pumpkins fairly often.”
The pumpkins on display range from intricately detailed portraits and pop-culture references to classic and simple carvings of faces.
