Gitanjali J Angmo, wife of Ladakh activist Sonam Wangchuk, has approached the Supreme Court, seeking her husband’s immediate release.

Wangchuk, currently lodged in Jodhpur jail, was arrested on September 26 under the National Security Act (NSA) for allegedly inciting violence in Leh on September 24, which left four people dead.

Angmo has strongly denied allegations that Wangchuk was in contact with a Pakistani intelligence officer. She clarified that his trips to Pakistan were related to climate change initiatives and participation in the United Nations conference. "In the waters of Himalayan glaciers, we do not see India or Pakistan," she said.
