PHOENIX — Former Democratic state lawmaker Leezah Sun has been found guilty of violating a court order that barred her from having any contact with three City of Tolleson employees she was accused of harassing.

Sun violated the restraining order during a break in a July 2024 court hearing where Sun was asking a judge to throw out the order, according to an audio transcript of the one-day trial in Phoenix Municipal Court.

Sun's sentencing was set for Oct. 9. She could face up to 6 months in jail and a $2,500 fine.

Sun is now president of the Tolleson Union High School District governing board and chair of the Legislative District 22 Democrats. She faces a recall campaign by Tolleson community members over questionable spending by the school board.
