The controversy over Tylenol’s possible link to autism started in 2008, 17 years before Donald Trump’s second term in office. During this time period, research has been inconclusive about whether or not acetaminophen plays a role in the development of autism.
President Trump did not encourage a public boycott of this product, nor did he call for Tylenol to be taken off the market. Tylenol, at the present time, is considered by doctors to be the safest option for pain relief and fever during pregnancy. The Trump administration simply reiterated the need for caution when using this product, as research is still ongoing.
