The Hawaii women’s volleyball team finally received some good news on the injury front.
Freshman outside hitter Cha’lei Reid, who brought more than 4,000 people inside of Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center to a dead silence on Saturday when she fell to the floor with an injury, is expected to be ready to go for this week’s road trip at Cal State Bakersfield today and Cal State Northridge on Saturday.
Reid, who leads the team in kills, points and aces per set, had to be helped off the floor by two assistant coaches in the fourth set of Saturday’s loss to UC Davis.
She appeared on television replays to roll her ankle when she landed on the base of one of the sides that hold up the volleyball net.
