A woman was allegedly raped, threatened at gunpoint, and abducted during a terrifying overnight ordeal.

The alleged attack unfolded in Maroochydore, on Queensland ’s Sunshine Coast , shortly after 10.30pm on Thursday, according to Queensland Police .

Police said they reacted to a triple-0 call with concerning content which was terminated.

It is alleged Nicholas Stephen Bennett entered a business and robbed the female attendant at gunpoint.

The 33-year-old man then allegedly sexually assaulted her on the premises.

“The victim was alone in the store, she is in her 30’s,” Sunshine Coast Detective Inspector Chris Toohey said.

“They were not known to each other.”
