SLIDELL, La. — A stolen New Orleans EMS ambulance crashed into another vehicle in Slidell on Thursday night after a police pursuit, authorities said.

The New Orleans Police Department reported that an ambulance was stolen around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 5900 block of Read Boulevard. Officers later learned the vehicle had traveled into St. Tammany Parish, where it crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Pearl Acres Road and Gause Boulevard. Deputies from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and troopers from the Louisiana State Police responded to the scene.

Emergency crews extricated the driver and passenger from the SUV and rushed them to University Medical Center for treatment. Their condition is unknown.
