LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - While the Coronado Mustangs (0-5) will seek out their first win of the season, the Monterey Plainsmen (2-3) will try to return to a .500 record- all as both crosstown rivals meet for their 61st showdown at Lowrey Field- One night of the year where records don’t matter.

“This is some city bragging rights. You got us three schools that are in a district together, and you definitely want to be the one that comes out on top for the next 365 days- just to have that pride,” said Monterey head coach Jason Sims. “They’re going to come out, they’re going to fight for it and you could throw records out the window in a rivalry game, so it’ll be a good great football game.”
