Storm Amy is set to hit the UK today, bringing heavy rain and gale force winds of up to 100 mph.

The Met Office has forecast "disruptive wet and windy weather" to hit the UK and has warned conditions are likely to lead to travel disruption and potential flooding.

A number of weather warnings have now been issued across the UK for wind and rain over Friday and the weekend. Currently all areas of the UK are expected to affected by a weather warning over the weekend.

Parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland likely to be worst affected as the Met Office has issued amber warnings of "damaging winds" for the areas. Yellow wind and rain warnings cover the rest of the country, including the north west and Greater Manchester.
