EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Evansville Police say a 26-year-old driver crashed a Mustang into someone's front porch, and said he was sending a text when it happened.

Police say they were patrolling around 2 a.m. Friday when they saw a black Mustang crashed into the front porch of a home on SE Second Street.

EPD says David Bratcher was standing next to the wrecked vehicle, and said he was the driver.

Officers say Bratcher told them he was sending a text when he veered off the road and crashed. They say he had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and was stumbling.

When police asked Bratcher how much he had to drink, they say he told them he had five drinks of "Jack and Coke" at Buds.
