DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) — Health officials say a West Nile virus death has occurred in Daviess County, Kentucky.
A health alert from the Kentucky Medical Association said that the Bluegrass State is experiencing an increase of West Nile virus.
According to the alert, Kentucky has seen 19 cases of West Nile, including one death, compared to an average of 7 cases of WNV in previous years.
Officials confirmed Friday that the death involved a resident of Daviess County, but no other details on their identity were released.
