GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — Authorities arrested Raymond Gossett, 67, of Washington, Indiana, on October 2, 2025, for Intimidation With a Deadly Weapon following a nearly three-week investigation.

Detectives Jennifer Loesch and Sergeant Roger Ballard led the investigation after a local auto sales business near Fort Branch received threatening emails. The emails, sent from an encrypted service outside the country, claimed that drugs and an explosive device were hidden in a vehicle on the property.

On September 15, Deputy Loesch, Sgt. Loren Barchett, and his K9 partner Duke conducted a search of the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee but found no illegal substances. The Indiana State Police EOD unit later confirmed there were no explosives.
