ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (WJW) -- A driver who police said struck a Rocky River City Schools student riding a bicycle on his way home from school on Wednesday, Oct. 1, said she did not see the boy before the crash, due to a large bush blocking her view.
The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Northview Road and Westway Drive, according to a police report.
The boy told police he was headed west on Westway Drive and was struck when entering the intersection of Northview Road, according to the report. He was thrown to the ground.
The responding officer noted the boy had road rash on his shin. The boy was expected to be transported to the hospital by a private vehicle.
