HOBBLE CREEK CANYON, Utah (ABC4) — The Cherry Fire that started in Hobble Creek Canyon, east of Springville is estimated to be burning over 70 acres and is 0% contained.

According to a latest updated posted by Utah Fire Info, fire managers feel confident they'll soon have some containment along the southern edge near South Fork Hobble Road.

The fire remained active into the night. Crews expect active fire activity on Friday. According to ABC4's 4Warn Weather team, our first classic Fall storm has arrived welcoming cool, wet conditions to Northern and Central Utah to wrap the work week.

According to Mapleton City Fire Department, the wildfire started on Thursday afternoon as a vegetation fire in the Right Fork of Hobble Creek. Crews with Utah County Fire, Utah Forestry Fire & State Lands
