LEXINGTON, Ky. — University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto has signed a resolution agreement after federal authorities said the university violated the Civil Rights Act.

In March, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights started investigating the university’s participation in the PhD Project.

Capilouto said the organization promotes networking to create a pipeline for minority students into graduate business programs, but he has now canceled the university’s participation with the organization.

The Office for Civil Rights directed UK to submit a report within 60 days that identifies any other partnerships with organizations that are similar to the PhD Project.
