BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo woman shot by police last weekend is now facing multiple charges, according to the Erie County District Attorney.
District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced Friday, that Cynthia Gilbert, 38, was arraigned on charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Attempted Assault in the First Degree.
According to Keane's office, police responded to an "unknown trouble complaint " on Donavan Drive around 2 a.m. Saturday Morning.
When officers arrived, they found Gilbert and several other people outside an apartment Complex. According to prosecutors, Gilbert was allegedly armed with a large knife pointed towards the group of people, and refused to drop the weapon when ordered to by police.
