BUFFALO, N.Y. — Assemblyman Jon Rivera and Senator Sean Ryan announced Friday the establishment of the Scajaquada Heritage Area in Buffalo.

The passage of legislation S6 903A/A7615A establishes Scajaquada Heritage Area as the third designated heritage area in Buffalo, placing it alongside the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor and the Theater District Heritage Corridor as officially recognized cultural and historic sites in New York State.

Boundaries for each state-designated heritage area requires a management plan that must be presented to the New York State Historic Preservation Office for review and approval.
