WEST BRANCH, MI – Ethan Hock packs plenty of push in his pull.
As a 5-foot-11, 285-pound pulling guard, his job isn’t just to get in the path of would-be tacklers, it’s to clear them out of the way.
And Ogemaw Heights ballcarriers have grown to love the open road Hock lays out before them.
“He loves to pull block,” Ogemaw coach Chad Miller said. “He’s normally blocking guys who weigh 100 pounds less than him, and he relishes that.”
After springing his team to a monstrous rushing performance in a stunning 41-7 victory over Clare in their key Jack Pine Conference-1 showdown in Week 5, Hock was selected MLive Bay City Player of the Week.
He drew 38.2 percent of the 33,758 ballots cast in the online poll, winning a voting war with John Glenn’s Bradley Boyk at 31.9 percent. Carson Ososki
