CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The American Civil Liberties Union of South Carolina has filed a lawsuit against Clemson University after a professor who was critical of Charlie Kirk was fired.

Dr. Joshua Bregy, an assistant professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences was terminated last month.

Conservative leaders called for Bregy’s termination after he reposted this message from his personal Facebook account:

According to the ACLU-SC, Clemson cannot justify the decision to fire Bregy for personal political speech.
