Carlos Mendoza may be back as the New York Mets ' manager for the 2026 season, but he'll be dealing with an almost entirely new coaching staff.
Pitching coach Jeremy Hefner, hitting coaches Eric Chavez and Jeremy Barnes, third base coach Mike Sarbaugh will not return for the 2026 season. Bench coach John Gibbons has resigned and catching coach Glenn Sherlock has retired.
The Mets have invited back first-base coach Antoan Richardson, strategy coach Danny Barnes and coaching assistant Rafael Fernandez. Assistant pitching coach Desi Druschel and bullpen coach Jose Rosafo have been given permission to speak to other teams upon the selection of a new pitching coach.
