An official with the Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District wants Barrington residents to know it is not too late to sign up for the curbside compost program in town. Stella Piasecki said Barrington residents can register through the end of the year.

The Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District is working with Barrington to bring Black Earth Compost curbside pickup service to local residents. Earlier this year the Barrington Town Council approved funding to help subsidize the curbside composting program.

The first 500 residents who sign up for the program receive a discount — the normal price of $199 is dropped to $66 for the first year.
