After playing a scoreless opening 40 minutes, the Mt. Hope High School girls' soccer squad blew out visiting Barrington, 5-1, in a Division I contest played Thursday, Oct. 2, at Roger Williams University.

The Huskies improved to 7-2-2 on the season and upped their unbeaten to eight, a stretch that began some three weeks ago with a 2-2 against the same Eagles in Barrington.

Thea Jackson had a brace for the locals. Sarah Nencka, Maya Goglia and Elise Lanoie each one goal. Emma Goglia and Olivia Overy had two assists apiece. Moira Ware was credited with one save in the Huskies' net.

Mt. Hope was not only playing a rival in an important league match, but also with the memory of former Huskies' standout Madisyn “Maddie” Pacheco.
