A state investigation is underway after a construction worker was saved from a trench by his coworkers, according to the Chattanooga Fire Department.
It happened around 10:30am in the 2700 block of Kanasita Drive in Hixson.
Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) officials say a dirt bank collapsed on the man, trapping in a trench.
CFD officials say his coworkers were able to quickly save the man.
Fire crews arrived at the scene to stabilize the man and take him to a hospital.
His name and condition are unknown at this time.
CFD officials say Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration (TOSHA) is investigating the incident.
