An Edinburgh MP was forced to close his office and postpone advice surgeries after a "security incident".
Officers were called to reports of a disturbance at around 2.15pm on Friday, October 3, at the office of Chris Murray MP on Portobello High Street.
Sharing the incident with his constituents on social media, he wrote: "Due to a security incident at my office today we have had to cancel my advice surgeries this afternoon.
"This is not connected to recent tragic incidents nationally and we are working with Police Scotland.
"If you have an appointment booked please contact the office to have this rearranged.
"We are sorry but the office will be closed this afternoon."
Police Scotland confirmed that they did attend, and advice was given.
