NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - An off-duty Tennessee state trooper is under internal investigation for a video showing him slamming a man to the ground in Nashville.

WSMV4 Investigates has confirmed that Sgt. DeWunya Topps is the trooper in the video.

In the video now circulating on social media, Topps, wearing his trooper uniform, is seen approaching a man who is holding out his hands.

“I don’t give a ****,” Topps responds, then slams the man to the ground.

The text accompanying the video reads: “Guy kicked a car, not realizing it belonged to a TN state trooper.”

The man then lies on the ground, unmoving, while the trooper stands over him. After the two appear to argue, the trooper walks away.
