A resident of Flushing, N.Y., will spend up to four years behind bars for scamming an older man in Richmond, N.H. , out of more than $20,000, New Hampshire officials said.
Wenhua Zhuo, 49, was sentenced Wednesday in Cheshire County Superior Court to serve from one and a half to four years in prison, according to Attorney General John M. Formella‘s office.
Zhuo had pleaded guilty to charges of attempted theft by deception and theft by deception, officials said.
He was arrested on July 16, 2024, when he tried to pick up $20,000 in cash from the man at his home in Richmond, prosecutors said.
