The Metro Inner Development Assessment panel will go back to vote on an application for a $2.5 million petrol station, convenience store and fast-food outlet in Bayswater, despite being recommended to refuse it.

At Thursday afternoon’s meeting, the panel voted 4-1 to defer its decision, and gave the applicant 180 days to provide several required documents to the City of Bayswater.

In Bayswater mayor Filomena Piffaretti’s absence, Cr Nat Latter stepped in and voted against the deferral.

Cr Latter thought it was unlikely the applicant would be able to meet the required deadline, and attempted to move the refusal, but had no seconder.

The On The Run petrol station is planned for the corner of Guildford Road and Kenilworth Street in Bayswater.
