A 43-year-old man from Cornwall is facing seven charges after police responded to an intimate-partner violence call.

Police alleged the man had assaulted his spouse, sexually assaulted his spouse, choked, and threatened his spouse on several occasions before Thursday, and had also assaulted his son. He was located and taken into police custody on Thursday.

The man was charged with sexual assault; three counts of domestic assault; assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle; assault; and, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic.

He was held in police custody pending a bail hearing in Cornwall court.
