Mourners lined the streets as Jimmy 'The Weed' Donnelley , a founding member of Manchester's notorious Quality Street Gang, was laid to rest today.

Jimmy died peacefully aged 84 in August after living with cancer for several years. His death came just weeks after the passing of his brother, well-known Manchester businessman, Arthur Donnelly , aged 83.

The funeral cortege left Jimmy's home at Victoria Square, Ancoats, led by a horse-drawn carriage draped in an Irish tri-colour and a pipe band. It then made its way to St Patrick's Church in Collyhurst for a requiem mass, before Jimmy was laid to rest at St Joseph's cemetery.
