BLACKSBURG, Va. (Virginia Tech) — Virginia Tech President Tim Sands and Director of Athletics Whit Babcock today announced the formation of the university’s search committee to identify the Hokies’ next head football coach. This distinguished group, comprised of leaders with deep expertise, institutional pride and national credibility, will guide one of the most important hires in Virginia Tech Athletics history.

Bruce Arians Arians is a 1974 graduate of Virginia Tech where he played quarterback for the Hokies. He spent the first three years of his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the Hokies from 1975 to 1977. Arians was named AP NFL Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2014. He is a three-time winner of the Greasy Neale Award, presented to the to
