Manchester synagogue attacker was on bail for alleged rape

Jihad Al-Shamie was on bail for an alleged rape when he attacked the Heaton Park Synagogue.

But he was not on the police or security services radar as a potential terrorist.

The British citizen of Syrian descent had been in the UK since he was a child. His community is now coming to terms with the fact that he became a killer.
