A rooftop bar and restaurant that both opened months ago in South Boston have been shuttered "for the foreseeable future," the company said in a social media post .
The Essex, located at The Cambria Hotel at 6 West Broadway, announced the sudden closure on Instagram this week.
The lobby-level restaurant had just opened in March, while the rooftop bar, The Essex Rooftop, had opened in May, according to the social media page.
For a few months, The Essex served up dishes like squid ink spaghetti, gazpacho, and za'atar-seasoned fries downstairs. The Essex Rooftop offered small bites such as cocktail shrimp and charcuterie in addition to elaborate beverages.
