Three police officers were injured Wednesday while responding to a reported assault of staff at a school for children with emotional issues in Boston’s South End, officials said.
Officers were notified around 1:35 p.m. that a student was “assaulting staff” at the Melvin H. King South End Academy on Warren Avenue, police said in a statement.
“During the response, three officers sustained what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries,” police said. Two officers were taken to local hospitals, while a third officer was treated at a police station.
Police said the juvenile suspect, whom they didn’t name, was taken to Boston Children’s Hospital for evaluation.
