BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) -BILOXI, Miss. – The 2025-2026 Mississippi Oyster Season will open, beginning at legal sunrise on October 13, 2025.
According to the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR), daily harvest limits will be set at 15 sacks per commercial tonging vessel and 20 sacks per commercial oyster dredging vessel. All recreational harvest is limited to three sacks per licensed resident per seven day period.
MDMR says they will have check stations at 104 South Market Street in the Pass Christian Harbor and 5200 Shipyard Road in Bayou Caddy. All fishermen must check-in prior to harvest at a designated check station or drop box.
The areas approved and conditionally approved for the harvest of oysters are:
Area I “B”
Includes St. Joe reefs
Area II “A”
Includes the Pass C
