MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) - The City of Murfreesboro is shining a light on an officer’s kind actions to a dog who was found injured lying on the side of a roadway in late September.

Officer Samuel Lopez responded to a call regarding a loose animal on the morning of September 30.

“He found an injured dog lying on the side of the road, scared and alone. Instead of just calling animal control and moving on, Officer Lopez stayed. He spoon-fed the pup his own lunch and gave him water from his thermal bottle,” the city said.
